EARTH & SKY
Ceramic Bottles and Vases
Each of these vases has a horizon, a break between blue glaze and earthy clay.
I find gazing to a horizon on a summer evening almost magical, as the sky changes colour from pale to dark it’s easy to think of it as a transition to another realm. Photographers call it the ‘blue hour’ and most of us call it that beautiful word “twilight”.
I didn’t realise I’d made a series until it was over, so the idea must be heavily lodged in my subconscious, and I’m pretty happy about that.
