Postage & Packing
Packaging:
Your pot will come safely packaged to ensure it arrives with you in one piece. Where appropriate this will mean use of padded envelopes or I will “double box” your item.
Outer Wrappings: I use recycled padded envelopes and cardboard boxes as much as I can, and paper wrapping tape.
Shredded paper/packing beans: If your parcel includes shredded paper I’ll indicate on the outside (no-one needs a surprise hoovering job!). Any packing beans I use are of the compostable variety and are invariably being re-used.
Fabrics: I occasionally use fabric packaging round smaller decorative ceramics - this always comes from my stash of remnants and charity shop finds.
Plastics: I do not use polystyrene packaging and any plastic bubble wrap you find in your package is being reused, having already been sent to me in a package…and I hope you can re-use it too.
Gift Wrapping: I do not currently offer gift wrapping, preferring to let the giver choose their own (but you might find some fragrant herbs, leaves or pine-cones nestled with your purchase!)
Postage:
I currently ship to the UK only (sorry rest of world, when I have more energy I will tackle it, I promise!)
Postage rates are Royal Mail 1st and 2nd class and are calculated very roughly on the weight of a parcel + packaging - if you buy multiple pieces the cost of postage at checkout will reflect this. It’s not ‘free postage’ but I do carry some of the cost. It feels more honest (because there’s no such thing as free, really) to do it this way.
For pieces which may require packaging of less common dimensions we will need to discuss shipping options. This will be indicated on the listing of the piece. Please email me : ficooperceramics ( @ ) fastmail.co.uk to discuss
* for example, including packaging: small hanging decorations are approx 100g, small vases approx 500g, large vases 1-2kg. For my larger works - such as the labyrinth or bottle sculptures - I would prefer to discuss the best way of shipping to you, you can even collect if you’re nearby.
